If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
2 Timothy 2:21
And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. And for this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.
Colossians 1:28-29
So why does God transform you into His image? It is because that for each of us God has a specific purpose for our lives. God recreates us into an instrument that He can use to extend His kingdom in the world. 1 John 3:8 says “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” We are to join in the same purpose for Christ. It is when we begin to discover God’s purpose for our lives; the Christian life becomes the most fulfilling. We see God’s power begin to work through us. We begin to see how God uses us to change the lives of others. We begin to worry less about our own problems because our focus is on much bigger things.
The exciting thing is that God has a purpose for you now, not just when you get older. Also the purpose for you life may change as you grow closer to Him and continue to discover the gifts He has given you. God does not want to keep you on the bench, He wants to use you for the kingdom.
But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."
Acts 9:15-16
(Ananias is being sent to Paul to let him know God’s plan for his life.)
